CHM 138H1, MAT135Y1

When I first came to U of T, I already knew I was going to be challenged. During lectures, you might think you know the material but on tests it's totally a different story. There's always new material and assignments given to you each week, so if you fall behind you'll need to work extra hard to try to catch up. But there is never enough time for you to read, learn, study, and most importantly, understand all of the materials from every course. But on the term tests, not only do you need to know the material well, you need to know when and how to apply your knowledge.

I went to other study sessions on campus, but they never really covered what we really needed to learn. My friend introduced me to TLS and I had doubts about it at first. I wasn't sure whether it was worth my money or not. I attended Collin's CHM138 and James' MAT135 sessions and I never doubted them ever again. You definitely need them. In each seminar you are given study packages that are extremely organized and provides all the questions (from easy to really difficult) you possibly need to do in order to prepare you for your term tests/exams. For each term test, it is a must that you get hold of the past term tests with the right solutions, in which TLS usually provides. You need the practice! The questions on your term tests are a lot harder and require more thinking than the questions in your textbook. Collin and James will teach you how to tackle questions in a way where you can understand them easily. They are able to teach you many concepts you've been learning for weeks and week in a matter of a few hours.

Collin and James are knowledgeable in what they are teaching and are willing to spend as much time as needed until everyone has a full understanding of all the concepts. I honestly don't know what I would've done without them in year 1. Don't be afraid to go up and talk to them, they are very friendly and they know a lot about all the programs and courses at U of T. They don't bite!
